Grant for language-editors
Umweb Publications is calling for grant applications to perform the language-editing (English) of the next Umweb monograph, “Authenticity, performance and other double-edged words – Essays on music, cinema and media”, by Dario Martinelli.
The grant, assigned after a competition based on the language-editing of a one-page sample of the book, consists in 500 euros, for a 200 pages-long text. In addition to the grant, the winner will be of course credited in the book as language-editor.
In order to participate to the competition, applicants are invited to 1) contact the Umweb staff at info@umweb.org, 2) write “Grant for language-editing 2010″ in the subject field, 3) request the sample to edit, and 4) include a short bionote and detailed contact information.
The language-edited copy of the sample should then be returned to Umweb WITHIN the 30th of May 2010, in .doc or .rtf format, to the same e-mail address.
A committee formed by Umweb members will evaluate and compare the applications received, and then select one winner of the competition, who will be informed by the 15th of June, 2010. The remaining applicants will NOT be informed.
